Advocacy
Since 2008, HoardingUK has been providing remote advocacy throughout the UK. We work with people who are hoarding themselves (our advocacy partner), their friends and family, plus services, to work towards positive outcomes.
Our Aims
Protect
Protect our advocacy partner, not their hoard.
Communicate
Open channels of communication between our advocacy partner and external agencies.
Legal
Help our advocacy partners comply with legal requirements.
Help
Help our partners access the support they need, and are entitled to.
We are independent of any other service provider, we don’t work for the council, housing office of the NHS, and we are not part of your family, nor one of your friends.
We offer a confidential service, and it’s free, however, there may be a waitlist.

What We Will Not Do
Offer counselling or befriending.
Offer legal advice.
Make decisions for you.
Tell you what to do.
Break confidentiality, except where there is safeguarding.
Since the introduction of the Care Act 2014, the statutory route to assistance with Hoarding rests with the local authority. We can assist you with the referral process, and can work with you to gain statutory advocacy as well.
If you would like to work with us, please email advocacy@hoardinguk.org
Want to make a referral on behalf of someone else? Then, please email us and we will inform you of the next steps.
Please note that getting in touch sooner rather than later is advised. The earlier we provide support, the better the outcomes for both the person with hoarding behaviour, and those impacted by it, including professionals. There may be a waitlist for our services.
